The Industrial Property Office of Iran (IPO) has announced that since November 18th 2012, all applications must be submitted online. All applicants who intend to submit an application to register a trademark need to file the electronic application form; they must also scan all the documents and submit them online along with the application. The original documents will be requested after the initial examination in the office. The electronic application that was already required for Patents and Industrial design applications is now being extended for trademarks after a successful trial period.
